Once you have decided to commission a portrait, the first step is the initial meeting.
Here we decide on the subject, size, setting, mood and clothing for the painting.
I then hold one or more photographic sessions of approximately two hours each. We review
the photos together, choosing the best composition and likeness. I will also do a rough color
sketch at this time. Being able to meet the subject in person is important to get a sense of his or
her personality. If that is impossible, then I will work from high-quality photos that you
provide. I am also willing to work from live sittings. When the portrait is completed,
a photograph of the painting is sent to you for approval. If touch-ups are needed, they can
be done before delivery. Satisfaction is guaranteed.
